This Resaw King bandsaw blade cuts so smoothly that it greatly reduces sanding time and saves material. We weld small pieces of tough C-8 steel onto high quality bands. Then with diamond grinders, we shape thin-kerf teeth. Innovated into the design of the Resaw king blade is small raised notch at "polishes" the wood and adds an anti-kickback feature to the performance. This patent-pending design innovation limits the cutting depth of the teeth and produces a smooth finish. Laguna Tools 1 1/4" Resaw King Bandsaw Blade - 145" Review

I use this blade on my Laguna 16HD bandsaw, and am mightily impressed. I can cut paper-thin veneer that needs almost no sanding. Before getting the Resaw King I had used three Lennox carbide blades: 1" and 1/2" Trimasters and a 1" Woodmaster CT. Of those I much preferred the 1" Trimaster, as it made a much smoother cut than the other two. The cut with my 1-1/4" RK is even better (though I can't speak of the 1-1/4" Trimaster). Incidentally, the weld on my blade is excellent--very smooth and no wider than the back of the blade.

There seems to be some confusion about the construction of the RK. I understand that a couple of years ago Laguna replaced the RK's custom C8 steel tips with C4 carbide, changed to a variable tooth spacing and switched to a thinner, more flexible, steel backing.

The Resaw King is expensive, but considering that Laguna will resharpen it for only $45, including return shipping ($55 for we Canadians), it actually is quite economical in the long-run.

The Instek GOS-6103 is a 100MHz, two-channel portable analog oscilloscope with a timebase auto-range function, delayed sweep mode, seven cursor measurements, storage for ten user-defined settings, Z-axis input, TV synchronization capability, trigger signal output, and high- and low-frequency rejection circuits for electronics applications such as product design, assembly lines, repair and servicing, and electrical engineering education, among others. The timebase auto-range function automatically selects the optimum sweep time for displaying waveforms. The oscilloscope has a standard sweep and a delayed sweep that can horizontally magnify any portion of a complex waveform for inspection. Seven cursor readout measurements � voltage difference, voltage difference percentage, voltage gain, time difference, time difference percentage, frequency, and phase� allow analysis of waveforms. Ten user-defined instrument settings can be saved and recalled. The Z-axis input modulates the intensity of the waveform and the TV synchronization circuit allows triggering of TV-V and TV-H signals. The problem with this oscilloscope is the performance/cost ratio. It works as it should but, for about the same money, digital oscilloscopes are now available that make it look like a poor choice.

Not too long ago it was advantageous to have a true phosphor (CRT) scope. One example is that CRT scopes show more intensity on the screen for signal segments that occur more often. This is an advantage for waveforms such as amplitude modulation. Now, with digital phosphor scopes, the advantage has mostly evaporated.

Another problem is the user manual ... too brief to explain confusing issues that can occur when using the scope. As an example, the scope can become non-responsive with certain button presses. There is no troubleshooting section.

If you really need a CRT scope, a four-star rating would be appropriate.

We purchased this from FaucetDirect.com for our new home. It was installed in the mudroom for the laundry sink. It's heavy and feels well made. The chrome is also a quality finish. A year later it began dripping and the handles felt a little squishy when closing. This faucet has a lifetime warranty on the cartridges so I called Chicago and gladly sent me the newer ceramic cartridges free of charge. I installed them this evening and they work great. Ceramic cartridges give a positive stop in the open and closed positions and are supposed to last much longer (if not indefinitely) than rubber gasket type cartridges. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind spending a little more for a quality faucet.
