The American Educational 2743 What Rock is It? classroom project is used for geological study, for developing student understanding of the rock identification process. The project has a wood-framed, multi-color teacher ��s chart with graphics and mounted specimens for classroom reference. The 2743 has activities for hands-on learning, including 30 student charts on heavy cardstock (reproductions of the teacher� �s chart) for marking individual progress as specimens are identified, and 30 specimens of each represented rock to be glued on charts during the activity. (Glue sold separately.) The project has one test kit that includes a streak plate, glass plate, hand lens, magnet, dropper bottle, nail, penny, and hardness scale for identifying rocks. The 2743 also includes the � Scott Resources� Rocks and Minerals Study Guide� for instructional use. The teacher� �s chart measures 24.0 x 18.0 inches (L x H). (L is the horizontal distance from left to right; H is the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point.) The project is suitable for grades 6 to 12 and ages 11 to 18, with many activities and materials appropriate for college use.
