Remington Elite Hunter Series I Full - tang Knife, DROP-POINT Review

Remington has a complete line of Italian made knives called the Premier Series. Premier is also used on some of their firearms and ammunition and (like the knives) feature the Premier "Gold" box. The Elite Hunter series has the option of stag, olive-wood, or sand-grit handles and also come in fixed or folding blades. Fixed blades come in clip or drop point and folders come in 1,2, or 3 blade option models both come with a black or brown leather sheath or hip-holster. The numeral "I" stands for fixed blade and "II" for folding. As far as I know, these knives are (partly?) made by hand in Maniago, Italy (near Venice I think). The Premier Series also has a complete line of tactical military, law enforcement, or civilian fixed or folding knives called Tango and Zulu, plus Elite Skinners, and rescue knives. All Premier knives are tactically styled.
I purchased two (one for me and one for friend) Elite Hunter I's with drop-point blade and black sand-grit/aluminum handle and black leather sheath. It is very sharp and the blade is very hard tempered so it holds it's edge long. The handle where the stag or olive-wood inserts would be are instead covered in sandy/gritty substance (almost like gluing sand onto the handle). This provides slip free action. The sheath is very sturdy, thick leather that will last a long time under extreme carrying and use (it may need to be softened up or bent a bit to make it easier to use). The Sportsman's Guide website ([...]) ran another huge sale on Remington knives for $30. Elite hunters are usually much more expensive in the $100+ range. These knives are just begging for a big game hunting/camping trip. Elite Hunters will last you many many years of loyal service in the field. Remington Tough!
