Baldor GA9S Bench Grinder Eye Shields with on/off switch

Baldor offers two models of lighted eye shields for bench grinders.

- GA9 (no integral switch)
- GA9S, with an integral on/off lamp switch (this product).

Eye shields with an "R" at the end (GA9R - GA9SR) are painted red to match Baldor's Big Red line of grinders. Otherwise, they are grayish to match Baldor's industrial grinder line (although mine are more of a purplish gray).

- You get TWO complete eyes shields. If you only need one, try ebay or some other site.

- Eye shields mount on any grinder employing the 1/4" round bent-rod mounting method. Refer to Customer Images.

- First-rate industrial quality construction. Thick, cast-aluminum lamp frame, 5-1/2" x 3-3/4" viewing area is shatterproof Dupont Lucite and is replaceable, porcelain lamp holder, quality switch, heavy 1/4" support rod.

- Unit adjusts for angle, up/down, forward/backward.

- Plugs into a 110 volt wall receptacle with included 8' 3-wire cord. As my grinder was permanently mounted on a bench, I cut the electrical cords and fed them through a grommet mounted in a hole in back of the grinder, and wired the lamps into the grinder cord.

- Large size is ideal for a 10" or larger grinder; Baldor includes them on many of their large 8", 10", 12" and 14" industrial grinders. These eye shields would too big for a 6" or smaller grinder.

- Accepts a bulb sized like a 60-watt incandescent, or smaller. I'm using the latest Sylvania 23-watt Compact Fluorescent Micro Mini Light Bulbs (smaller even than their previous micro-mini's) - equivalent in light to a 100-watt incandescent. They provide terrific lighting where it's needed. My Delta Grinder came with a wimpy goose neck lamp and cheap plastic eye shields. This Baldor setup is a huge improvement in lighting and eye protection.
