Frankly, I was surprised to see the cost for this wood screw. Typically, I can pick them up from a local hardware store for around ten cents each, or less. So to see this at $1,740 for one screw was shocking. But I figured there must be some significant quality improvements, so I picked up a dozen for a project. What a difference! The threads are so smooth and perfect that screwing them into the wood was like screwing them into a block of butter - and I know, because I tried that for comparison. My bird house came out perfect, and yesterday, it even attracted that legendary creature, the Phoenix.
The only disappointment was the $3000 charge for shipping, but I think they've removed that since. However, having the screws arrive on a velvet pillow held by a tuxedo'd limo driver was impressive to my neighbors, to say the least.
